Our luxuriously soft beach towels are made from brushed microfiber with a 100% cotton back for extra absorption.   The top of the towel has the image printed on it, and the back is white cotton.   Our beach towels are available in two different sizes: beach towel (32" x 64") and beach sheet (37" x 74").

Don't let the fancy name confuse you... a beach sheet is just a large beach towel.

Thanks ladies. The dementia was certainly a tough journey, but art helped get me through it, as did writing.

Your work is so touching and fascinating and I adore your amazing way to share those precious memories about your dad with the world . The pieces of the text here bring tears to my eyes as they remind my my grandma who suffered from Alzheimer's .

Emily Page replied:

Sorry to hear about your grandmother. I sometimes wonder if there's anyone in the world untouched by dementia.

Excellent work! Love it! An elephant started my on a path as an artist. I was 10 years old.

Emily Page replied:

Someday you'll need to tell me that story.

Artist's Description

This is a painting from a series of paintings I did about my father, a jazz musician, who died from dementia. Throughout the series, I use the elephant as a symbol for dementia. The background text reads, "and in his later years,a second childhood found him, he forgot that he had forgotten." While the early years of the disease were hard because my dad knew he was slipping, eventually he declined to the point where he was no longer aware of it. It was still hard for US, but HE had moved into a stage of just being. The joys of childhood - coloring in coloring books, stomping crunchy leaves, singing songs, eating ice cream, snuggling with his wife and daughter - were what mattered. This painting is featured in my book, Fractured Memories: Because Demented People Need Love, Too. It chronicles my family's heartbreaking and hilarious journey through my dad's dementia and includes 40 paintings. You can purchase it at http://shop.emilypageart.com/products/fractured-memories or on Amazon.

About Emily Page

Emily Page

Color and texture are hugely important in my work. Applied appropriately, they can actually elicit a visceral response from the viewer, says Emily Page, a California-born, Virginia-raised artist. Page began experimenting with different brushwork and palette knife work, scraping and overlaying, from the very beginning. At Wake Forest University in North Carolina, she honed her skills and graduated with honors with a BA in visual arts. I learned to work in a number of mediums, including sculpture and photography, but my passion has always been painting. I love working with oil paint simply for the richness of it. It just feels luxurious. And it affords such workability and durability. No other medium matches it. I enjoy branching...
