Description
This is a painting from a series of paintings I did about my father, who died from dementia. Throughout the series, I use the elephant as a symbol for dementia. When my dad, a jazz musician, could no longer talk, he could still sing, so we'd sit together and sing songs and it would make him smile. And even when he could no longer say my name, he would light up when I'd enter the room. This painting is featured in my book, Fractured Memories: Because Demented People Need Love, Too. It chronicles my family's heartbreaking and hilarious journey through my dad's dementia and includes 40 paintings. You can purchase it at http://shop.emilypageart.com/products/fractured-memories or on Amazon.

Amazing work and beautiful post. My family went through a similar experience with my great aunt. When will your book be released? V/F
