This is one of my cats, Dizzy. He's defective. He has a kink at the end of his tail, he was born with only one testicle, and his purr is seriously deficient. The only time he wants to snuggle is when you're at the bathroom sink and are elbow deep in water. He also likes to get a buzz by chewing on electrical cords, which has resulted in us having to replace several phone charges, a stereo, and a TV, and now every cord in our house is wrapped in terry cloth and duct tape. Still, he's a pretty cute little stinker, so we can't help but love him.
Color and texture are hugely important in my work. Applied appropriately, they can actually elicit a visceral response from the viewer, says Emily Page, a California-born, Virginia-raised artist. Page began experimenting with different brushwork and palette knife work, scraping and overlaying, from the very beginning. At Wake Forest University in North Carolina, she honed her skills and graduated with honors with a BA in visual arts. I learned to work in a number of mediums, including sculpture and photography, but my passion has always been painting. I love working with oil paint simply for the richness of it. It just feels luxurious. And it affords such workability and durability. No other medium matches it. I enjoy branching...

Beautiful kitty! I took in a stray cat years ago that had a kink in her tail. I thought it was an injury at first, but when she had kittens (before I had a chance to get her fixed) three of them had kinks in their tails too. L/F your beautiful painting of Dizzy.
Emily Page replied:
I suspect his is genetic, too!
